This position will assist the Retail/F&B Manager in the daily operation of Ryman retail areas (Gift Shop, merchandise stands, online store) and Ryman food & beverage areas (concession stands, bars, special event catering and artist catering). Directly responsible for training, sales, customer service, merchandising, scheduling and assuring that procedures and policies are followed. Assist Retail/F&B Manager in selection and hiring of new staff, receiving merchandise and inventory flow, and planning and budget controls. Will assume Manager on Duty (MOD) responsibilities when Retail/F&B Manager or other Operations Manager is absent. Retail matters will be approximately seventy-five percent of the responsibility, food & beverage will be approximately twenty-five percent. Work hours will vary including days, evenings, late night, weekends and holidays.
Manager on Duty - serve as Manager on Duty in absence of Retail/F&B or other Operations Manager. Customer Service - provide "flawless service" to all customers; serve as first point of escalation to address any guest concerns; model and train staff on "Service Basics" and sales techniques, providing coaching and feedback as needed; responsible for knowing and communicating information about current and upcoming events. Responsible for providing management with feedback regarding customer comments and experiences. Staff supervision/development - generate weekly staff schedule; recruit, hire and train new staff in conjunction with Retail/F&B Manager; assist with performance evaluations; provide daily supervision and support of Retail and F&B staff; coordinate incentive programs for staff; with Retail/F&B Manager, develop ongoing training for existing staff (includes holding regular pre-shift meetings with all staff). Planning and budget controls - working with Retail/F&B Manager, ensure that sales and profit goals are met through appropriate planning and organization of staff, inventory and expenses. Cash handling/loss prevention - daily complete all cash control procedures including ensuring that proper check in/check out procedures are followed and that all receipts and deposits are accurately posted with cash control and accounting; note discrepancies for follow-up; monitor and react to internal/external shrinkage. Merchandising - maintain well-merchandised, clean, orderly and fully stocked Retail and F&B locations, ensuring that areas remains full and visually pleasing to our guests; relay inventory concerns and product suggestions to Retail/F&B Manager and buying team. Food Safety & Sanitation - ensure the proper preparation of food as well as storage of products as required by local and federal health regulations; ensure sanitation procedures are followed as required by local and federal health regulations are followed, including the rotation and date labeling of new and existing inventory. Inventory - maintain organized stockroom areas; assist with preparations for regular physical inventories; conduct periodic cycle counts in conjunction with Retail/F&B Manager and Retail Buyer; assist in ensuring accurate system inventory of all retail locations through accurate records of inventory transfers between locations and departments, and system entry. Information Management/Systems - manage file maintenance to support the procurement cycle in an organized and secure manner, including product receipts, inventory balancing and inquiries; monitor sales on a daily basis. Online Sales - Oversee the online store: selection, item photography, copywriting, uploading and order fulfillment. Perform other duties as required. |

Education: High school graduate, college preferred. Experience: Minimum of two years retail management experience (at the assistant manager level or higher). Computer literate in a variety of systems. |
