| Job Description: |
This position will be responsible for the acquisition, installation, maintenance, usage, and monitoring of all servers, data storage solutions, backup technologies, Internet connected services, authentication technologies, software, and associated equipment. Develop and monitor adherence to company standards and procedures for all system operations, access, and usage. Provide management oversight to STAR technicians working in the Platforms team.
Management responsibility for all servers and operating system environments across the entire enterprise; collaborate with property server and support teams as necessary. Ensure system availability to all system users company-wide, and timely responsiveness to maintenance needs and user requirements. Manage the daily activities and the performance of the Corporate Platforms technical staff. Manage and/or coordinate all projects involving server resources. Allocate staff resources to projects and support tasks and perform project management duties as needed. Ensure adherence to project timelines. Manages the establishment of Gaylord IT Guidelines for property specific policies, procedures, and standards for system reliability. Create all appropriate policies for Gaylord server environments on an enterprise level. Creates/Manages the development of capital and operating budgets for all enterprise-wide and corporate specific servers, storage, and related initiatives. Manage the Platform group expenditures. Perform budget reforecast and determine accruals in accordance with Gaylord's requirements. Oversees that security procedures are implemented and enforced in accordance with Gaylord's Information Security Department to provide required information security at corporate offices and across the brand. Manages the relationship for all vendors and evaluates vendor products to provide enhanced enterprise-wide and corporate specific network system performance. Work with all the properties to ensure best practice is being utilized throughout all of Gaylord properties with respect to the major platform environments. Manage and maintain all server software and hardware in the corporate data center and at all remote data centers (including hotels and disaster recovery sites). Oversee the utilization of appropriate system monitoring tools. Provide troubleshooting as needed. Establish and monitor service level agreements (SLA's) for system availability and performance. Develop and produce metrics to validate achievement of SLA's. Ensure efficiency of application performance through proper allocation of system resources. Manage all enterprise-wide and corporate specific server hardware and software contracts ensuring best practice and optimum coverage for all of Gaylord Entertainment's platform environments. Perform other duties as assigned. |

| Education, training, experience: |
Education: BS in Computer Science or job equivalence in IT. Experience: Minimum ten years experience in system operations, analysis and design with a minimum of five years management experience required. Project Management experience preferred. Documented training for Microsoft network operating systems, IBM server platforms, SAN platforms and/or internetworking equipment preferred. Licenses/Certifications: AIX, iSeries, VMware, Citrix, SAN, MCSE or equivalent preferred. |
